The effect of facilitated tucking position during painful procedure in pain management of preterm infants in neonatal intensive care unit: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the effects of facilitated tucking position during painful procedure in pain management of preterm infants. We searched MEDLINE, PEDro, SciELO and the Cochrane Library (until June 2019) for randomized controlled trials. An α value ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Heterogeneity among studies was examined with Cochran’s Q and I2 statistic, in which values greater than 40% were considered indicative of...

Neuroanesthesia Practice During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Recommendations from Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology & Critical Care (SNACC)
The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has several implications relevant to neuroanesthesiologists, including neurologic manifestations of the disease, impact of anesthesia provision for specific neurosurgical procedures and electroconvulsive therapy, and healthcare provider wellness. The Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care appointed a task force to provide timely, consensus-based expert guidance for neuroanesthesiologists during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim...

Comparison of Alternative Population Modeling Approaches for Implementing a Level A IVIVC and for Assessing the Time-Scaling Factor Using Deconvolution and Convolution-Based Methods
Abstract Different approaches based on deconvolution and convolution analyses have been proposed to establish IVIVC. A new implementation of the convolution-based model was used to evaluate the time-scaled IVIVC using the convolution (method 1) and the deconvolution-based (method 2) approaches. With the deconvolution-based approach, time-scaling was detected and estimated using Levy’s plots while with the convolution-based approach, time-scaling was directly determined by a...

Radiomics for liver tumours
Abstract Current research, especially in oncology, increasingly focuses on the integration of quantitative, multiparametric and functional imaging data. In this fast-growing field of research, radiomics may allow for a more sophisticated analysis of imaging data, far beyond the qualitative evaluation of visible tissue changes. Through use of quantitative imaging data, more tailored and tumour-specific diagnostic work-up and individualized treatment concepts may be applied for oncologic...

Design of a Drug-Eluting Subcutaneous Implant of the Antiretroviral Tenofovir Alafenamide Fumarate
Abstract Purpose Sexual transmission of HIV has been clinically proven to be preventable with a once-daily oral tablet; however, missed doses dramatically increase the risk of HIV infection. Long-acting subcutaneous implants do not allow the user to miss a dose. A desirable long-acting drug-eluting implant can deliver a constant amount of drug, adjust the delivered dose, and be readily manufactured. We present a long-acting, subcutaneous...
