Large cell calcifying Sertoli cell tumors (LCCSCTs) are extremely rare, with less than 100 tumors being described to date. Most of the tumors are benign with a few malignant cases, and aggressive behavior is infrequent. These tumors are a type of Sertoli cell tumor, and these tumors comprise less than 0.3% of all testis tumors in Saudi Arabia. They usually occur in boys and young adults and can affect one or both testicles in multifocal form causing microcalcifications. A 28-year-old male visited...

Abstract The anodized titanium nanotubes (TiO2-NTs) are considered to be a potential material in clinical therapy. To enhance the antibacterial property of TiO2-NTs, cefuroxime is introduced into TiO2-NTs, and then, different chitosan layers are coated to control the release of cefuroxime. SEM and FTIR are adapted for the characterization of prepared TiO2-NTs. The effects of chitosan coating thickness on release of cefuroxime are also investigated, followed with the antibacterial...
Abstract Six local isolates of yeasts were screened for cell mass and lipid production in mixed glucose and xylose medium. Candida tropicalis SY005 and Trichosporon (Apiotrichum) loubieri SY006 showed significant lipid accumulation of 24.6% and 32% (dry cell weight), respectively when grown in medium containing equal mass of both the sugars. SY005 produced relatively higher cell mass of 9.66 gL−1 due to higher rate of sugar consumption, which raised the lipid productivity of...
Abstract Functional genes, namely hzo/hao, nirS, hzs, and ccs gene, are efficient with high specificity for detecting anammox bacteria. Sc-nirS and An-nirS primer sets were proposed for targeting Scalindua/non-Scalindua anammox bacterial groups; previously, they have not been assessed for biogeographic study on marine-terrestrial transitional systems, specifically marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Here, we report phylogenetic distribution pattern of anammox bacteria in both...
Abstract Foodborne pathogens have become ongoing threats in the food industry, whereas their rapid detection and classification at an early stage are still challenging. To address early and rapid detection, hyperspectral microscope imaging (HMI) technology combined with convolutional neural networks (CNN) was proposed to classify foodborne bacterial species at the cellular level. HMI technology can simultaneously obtain both spatial and spectral information of different live...
