Comparison of core needle biopsy and fine‐needle aspiration in diagnosis of ma lignant salivary gland neoplasm: Systematic review and meta‐analysis
Abstract Background In this meta‐analysis, we compared the risk of obtaining nondiagnostic results and the diagnostic accuracy for detection of salivary gland malignancy between core needle biopsy (CNB) and fine‐needle aspiration (FNA). Methods All published English‐language studies comparing CNB and FNA diagnostic accuracy for salivary gland masses through December 2019 were searched. Pooled risk ratios (RRs) of nondiagnostic results, sensitivities, and specificities of CNB and FNA for...

Do Young Children With Nonsevere Obstructive Sleep Apnea Benefit From Adenotonsillectomy?
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in children is characterized by snoring, disrupted sleep, and daytime sequelae such as hyperactivity and poor behavior. The severity of OSA in children is classified according to the apnea–hypopnea index (AHI) on full-night polysomnography (PSG). Children with an AHI score greater than 1 or 2 and less then 10 are considered to have mild to moderate OSA (nonsevere disease). Traditionally, adenotonsillectomy has been the primary treatment for pediatric OSA. However, over...

Non-exposure procedure to aerosols during a tracheostomy under biosafety isolation in SARS CoV-2
A tracheostomy performed on patients infected with SARS CoV-2 is one of the procedures with the highest risks of aerosolization. Safety recommendations for carrying out this procedure are not suitable for implementation in every hospital. Despite the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), the suit leaves the submental area unprotected, and even the face mask may not provide a full seal. The use of additional biosafety isolation equipment increases safety, thus preventing exposure to infecting...
