Abstract
* The average annual incidence rate of malignant otitis media was 0.221 per 100,000 people.

* The highest annual incidence rate of malignant otitis media was found in the ≥65‐year age group (1.113 per 100,000 people).

* The lowest annual incidence rate of malignant otitis media was encountered in the group younger than 18 years (0.018 per 100,000 people).

* Secular decreases in incidence rates of malignant otitis media for all age groups were found across the 15‐year study period.
