Photooxidation of aryl(hetaryl)pyrazolines in the presence of benzoquinone in organic solvents undergoes at high rate and provides the corresponding pyrazoles in a good yields. The effects of the solvent, pyrazoline structure and oxygen provide definite information on the reaction pathway.
